I started this website with the intentions of making a change; a change within ourselves, and also within the system of the country we fought for. We must join together so we can influence that change with sheer numbers. We must look at the health care we receive, the benefits we get, and the available/accessible treatment as a reflection of the value our government places on us. We are here to get Veterans to open up about their experiences and to share a part of our lives with others. By speaking out myself, I have found many other Veterans I have communicated with willing to do the same. All it takes is for us to relay our experiences, to open up and let the world in, and then people will understand what we go through. This benefits both the Veteran and the public and will help us get the support we need for our cause.
It's not necessary to reinvent the wheel, all we need to do is work with other organizations to help push for change. This is the reason the word "community" is in the title of this site--we are all trying to accomplish the same things, but we must all push forward together to get it done. None of us could do this without the help of others, and this site is meant to do just that, bring us all together on a unified front. This site is not only for OIF Veterans, it is for anyone who loves, supports and cares about Veterans of any era.
We are now in the process of writing a Proclamation of an American Veteran Bill of Rights, and fully expect it to get passed by Congress and Senate, signed by the President and enacted into law. The Proclamation of the American Veteran Veteran Bill of Rights will contain three separate Bill of Rights for Americas Veterans and our Deployed Service Memebers:
1. Veteran and Eligible Dependant Health Care Bill of Rights
2. Veteran and Eligible Dependant Entitlements/Comensation/Benefits Bill of Rights
3. Deployed Service Member Bill of Rights
Thank you for joining, and remember, "Alone we will perish, but together we shall conquer" JSK
